Take your Met experience further with a school partnership!
Mini Residencies
A limited number of free mini residencies are available for New York City Title I and District 75 schools and open to all K–12 grade levels and subjects.
These in-person residencies, led by a Met teaching artist, consist of three parts:
- Pre-tour program designed to introduce students to the Museum;
- Museum tour focused on exploring artworks through inquiry-based discussion;
- Post-tour program during which students respond to the artwork through art making and other creative activities.
Programs investigate a socially engaged essential question and make connections between original works of art and their own lives. They are designed to develop students' critical thinking skills, evidenced-based reasoning, social and emotional learning, and creativity.
How to Apply
Met mini residencies are scheduled on a seasonal basis. Request a residency:

Programs are available in English and Spanish, and additional languages may be available on request.

Custom and Long-Term Partnerships
We also work with schools to codevelop a limited number of customized and long-term partnerships consisting of programs at the Museum, in school, or a combination of both.
