For Families
Visit Tips
Look
Examine the art from a distance. Help us keep the art safe by not touching.
Walk, Don't Run
Move slowly while you’re in the Museum so you don’t miss something!
Draw
Feel free to write, draw, or take notes with a pencil. Other art-making materials are not allowed.
Stick together
Children twelve and under must always be accompanied by an adult.
Explore
Don’t know where to begin? Egyptian Art, Arms and Armor, Musical Instruments, and The American Wing are home to many iconic, eye-catching works and share themes that many kids are already learning in school or at home. You can also explore what things are made of in our art and science discovery and play space, The 81st Street Studio.
Take breaks
You don’t have to see the entire Museum in one visit! Have a bite, visit the shop, or play in Central Park (you can use your admission ticket to re-enter).
