Not on view

Drawing, design for a man's costume for the number 'O Leo', from the musical 'At Home Abroad', part of a group of 88 costume designs by Vincente Minnelli. The costume consists of a green jacket with white lapels with white stars, white waistcoat with brown buttons and trimmings, over a reddish-brown shirt, and beige shorts with semi-abstract scrolling motifs in brown, worn with a brown hat with white feathers, knee-length, green sockes, and pointed-toe, brown and green shoes. The notes on the reverse of the drawing include the names 'Martel' and 'Charise', which may correspond to performers Gene Martel and Andre Charise, both of whom were in the cast of 'At Home Abroad', created for the Shuberts and performed in Broadway in 1935.
