Lydia Aikenhead

Mirabelle Cohen
Senior Manager of Library Administration
Mirabelle Cohen first joined Watson Library as an Adrienne Arscht intern in 2022. Now, as Senior Manager of Library Administration, she oversees the execution and coordination of the department’s daily administrative operations. She holds a BA in English Literature and Spanish Language from Gettysburg College and is pursuing an MLS degree from Queens College-CUNY.

Jared Ash
Florence and Herbert Irving Museum Librarian, Collection Development
Jared leads and manages Watson Library’s collection development team and selects publications for acquisition. He develops programs to assess and expand diversity and inclusivity in the collection, and to promote wider awareness, access, and use of Watson’s resources. His previous positions include Special Collections Curator and Librarian at the Newark Public Library, and Curator of the Judith Rothschild Foundation. He has published and presented widely on the Russian avant-garde, artists’ books, and other subjects. He holds a BA with Honors from Brown University, an MA in Russian Studies from New York University, and an MLIS from Rutgers University.

William Blueher
Museum Librarian, Manager of Cataloging
William is one of the chief catalogers in Watson, responsible for original cataloging of incoming material and special collections. He also oversees the Social Media Team, serves on the Editorial Board of In Circulation, selects material from the library's North American and Indian book vendors, and provides reference assistance. He holds a BA in English Literature and Philosophy from the University of New Mexico, an MA in English Literature from the University of Pennsylvania, and an MSLIS from Pratt Institute.

Scott Carlton
Associate Museum Librarian, Electronic Resources & Systems
Scott manages the maintenance and development of the library's collection of electronic resources. He holds a BA in Film Studies and Psychology from Wesleyan University, an MA in Media Studies with a certificate in Museum Studies from the University of Texas at Austin, and an MLS from Queens College-CUNY.
Michael Carter
Museum Librarian, The Cloisters Library and Archives
Michael oversees all services and operations of the library and archival holdings of the Met Cloisters, the branch of the Museum dedicated to the art, architecture, and gardens of medieval Europe, located in Fort Tryon Park, Manhattan. He holds a BFA from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, an MLS from Queens College-CUNY, and a certificate in archival management from the Modern Archives Institute of the National Archives and Records Administration.

Mindell Dubansky
Conservator
Mindell manages the staff, daily activities, educational programs and administrative functions of Watson Library’s Sherman Fairchild Center for Book Conservation (SFCBC). She is responsible for the care and conservation treatment of library and rare book collections across the Museum.

Robyn Fleming
Museum Librarian, Interlibrary Services and Digital Initiatives
Robyn oversees all aspects of Interlibrary Services; directs Watson Library's digitization program; contributes to and serves on the Editorial Board of In Circulation; provides reference service; selects Italian-language print materials for the collection; and contributes to the library's social media outlets. She holds a BA in Art History and Italian Language, Literature and Culture from Syracuse University, and an MLS from Queens College-CUNY.

Tamara Fultz
Museum Librarian, Principal Cataloger
Tamara is responsible for quality control of bibliographic records, overseeing training of technical services staff in cataloging standards, and cataloging special collections materials. She manages the Original Cataloging Discussion Group, a forum for problem discussion, training, and project reporting. She also selects German-language materials for the collection. She teaches at Pratt Institute’s School of Information. She holds a BA in Classical Languages from Pennsylvania State University, an MLIS from Drexel University, an MA in Latin from Indiana University, and an MA in Classical Art History from Hunter College.

Mary is responsible for supporting the systems and technology work of Watson Library. She holds a BA from the Evergreen State College and an MSLS from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Julie Lê
Associate Museum Librarian, The Costume Institute
Julie oversees The Costume Institute's Irene Lewisohn Costume Reference Library as chief custodian of its collection of over 30,000 books and periodicals, 1,500 designer files, and extensive special collections materials. She also curates the library's Instagram account and works closely with staff from Watson Library. She holds an MSLIS with an advanced certificate in archives from Pratt Institute. She joined the staff of The Met in 2005.

John Lindaman
Museum Librarian, Head of Technical Services
John leads the Technical Services Team, which is responsible for the operation of all library processes from ordering books and serials to their arrival at their final destination. He teaches at the Palmer School of Library and Information Science. He holds a BA in Rhetoric and Communication Studies from the University of Virginia, and an MLS from Queens College-CUNY.
Luxuan Liu
Associate Museum Librarian
Luxuan is primarily responsible for cataloging Chinese, Japanese and Korean language materials. She holds a BA in Chinese Language and Literature from Fujian Normal University in China and an MLIS from Long Island University’s Palmer School. She joined the staff of Watson Library in 2012.

Alan McCarthy-Behler

Alan manages the Watson Library Systems team, which is responsible for the development and operation of Watson Library's systems and application infrastructure. He holds a BA in History from Marlboro College and an MLIS in Rare Books and Special Collections from Long Island University. He is a certified MCSA SQL Database Developer, PMI Project Management Professional, and CompTIA Security+ practitioner.

Daisy Paul

Daisy manages Sierra, the library's main database, and is responsible for technology projects that support workflows throughout Watson Library. She holds a BA in History from Bard College, an MSLIS from Pratt Institute, and an MS in the History of Art, Design, and Architecture, also from Pratt Institute. She joined the staff of Watson Library in 2018.

Holly is responsible for acquiring rare research material and overseeing the gifts program. She holds a BA in Art History from Barnard College, and an MA in Art History (specializing in nineteenth-century art) from Columbia University. She joined the staff of Watson Library in 1995.

Nicolas Valle
Senior Departmental Technician
As a departmental technician, Nicolas is responsible for the care and handling of Watson Library’s vast collection of books and Special Collections materials. When he is not diving for books in the main stacks, you will find him at the Library’s Circulation Desk assisting Museum staff and patrons. He holds a Bachelor’s in History from Wingate University and a Master’s in Public History with a concentration in Museum Studies, from Appalachian State University. He first joined the Museum in early 2017 and then joined the Watson Library Staff in the summer of 2021.
Angela Washington
Assistant Museum Librarian, Finance and Administration
Angela is responsible for processing invoice payments, managing timekeeping for the library staff, and selecting and ordering reference materials for the Museum’s libraries. She holds a BA in Anthropology from Binghamton University-State University of New York and has her MLIS from San Jose State University. Angela first worked at the Met from 1992 to 1996. She joined the staff of Watson Library in 2002.

Karen Williams
Museum Librarian
Karen’s primary responsibility is the management of all financial operations of the library, including vendor and maintenance contracts and library-wide budget and planning. She holds a BA in Economics and Accounting from Muhlenberg College, a BA in Art History from New York University, and an MSLIS from Pratt Institute. She joined the staff of Watson Library in 2007.
Min Xu
Museum Librarian
Min is responsible for collection development in Asian language materials, and oversees the CJK (Chinese, Japanese and Korean) operations. She holds an MA in East Asian Studies from Saint John’s University in New York, and an MS in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She joined the staff of Watson Library in 1998.
