John Graham American

Not on view

This portrait of the seventy-five-year-old art dealer is one of nineteen works shown in the exhibition, "Kelekian: As the Artist Sees Him," at the Durand-Ruel Galleries, New York, in 1944. Among the other artists invited into his gallery for special sittings were the painters Milton Avery, André Derain, Walt Kuhn, and André Masson and the sculptors Chaim Gross and Jacques Lipchitz. Many of their compositions also included antiquities from the gallery.
