Friends of Photographs: The Alfred Stieglitz Society
The Alfred Stieglitz Society brings photography collectors and devotees into closer contact with The Met's curators and renowned collection of nineteenth-century, modern, and contemporary photography. Friends are invited to behind-the-scenes seminars led by the curatorial staff on a variety of topics related to the collection, special tours and opening receptions of the Museum's photography exhibitions, visits to prominent private collections and artists' studios, and an annual dinner featuring a distinguished scholar, curator, or artist. The Friends support the Museum and the activities of the Department of Photographs, including acquisitions.
