The Metropolitan Museum of Art Honors Pamela Liebman at 2022 Real Estate Council Benefit

(New York, November 10, 2022)–Pamela Liebman, President and Chief Executive Officer of The Corcoran Group, was honored at The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s annual Real Estate Council Benefit on Wednesday, November 9, at the Museum’s Temple of Dendur. The Benefit raised nearly $1.4 million from more than 430 attends to support The Met’s general operating fund, which supports the Museum’s dynamic education programs.

The program for the event included an exhibition viewing of Cubism and the Trompe l’Oeil Tradition, on view at The Met Fifth Avenue through January 22, 2023,  in addition to cocktails and dinner. Co-chairs of the 2022 Benefit Committee included Daniel Brodsky, Dean Amro, Bruce A. Beal, Jr., William C. Rudin, Mary Ann Tighe, and Alan H. Wiener.

Daniel H. Weiss, President and CEO of The Met, commented, “This annual celebration of the real estate industry’s support of New York City’s cultural landscape is an important fundraiser for The Met, and it's wonderful to honor the contributions of Pamela Liebman and the Corcoran Group—we're deeply grateful for their support."

“I am honored to receive this tremendous recognition from The Met’s Real Estate Council,” said Liebman. “As a lifelong champion of New York City and all that makes it special, I am committed to sustaining venerable institutions like The Metropolitan Museum of Art. I look forward to continuing this important tradition alongside my peers in the real estate industry.”

Liebman has been with Corcoran since she started her career in 1984 and was named President and CEO in 2000. Responsible for transforming the firm into one of the nation’s most successful and prestigious real estate brands, she led the expansion into key East Coast markets with the acquisitions of top firms in South Florida and the Hamptons, along with the purchase of Citi Habitats, New York City’s largest rental brokerage firm. With her strategic direction, Corcoran has achieved record sales that have reached more than $23 billion annually.

Liebman also created the Corcoran Sunshine Marketing Group, now recognized as the premier industry leader in new luxury residential development. As a result, Liebman oversaw some of the most high-profile residential projects in the history of New York City. In 2020, she launched the Corcoran Affiliate Network, which rapidly grew to ten markets within the first year. Recognized as Anywhere Real Estate’s fastest growing brand, Corcoran’s footprint currently stretches across 45 markets and more than 170 offices.

Consistently named one of the Top 50 Most Powerful Women in New York by Crain’s New York Business, Liebman is a nationally recognized market expert and currently stars in Netflix’s debut season of ‘Buy My House’ as one of four real estate investors. Liebman is a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization, Chief Executives Organization, The Committee of 200 and the Partnership for New York City. She also serves on the Board of Directors for The Bass Museum, the Mount Sinai Medical Center Foundation’s Executive Committee and the Real Estate Board of New York’s Executive Committee and Board of Governors.

The Met’s Real Estate Council was created in 1981 to promote and maintain industry involvement with the Museum. The annual tradition of saluting members of the real estate and construction community for their commitment and generosity to cultural organizations such as The Met was established at the council’s inaugural gala in 1996. Generous contributions help sustain a wide range of educational programs offered to millions of annual visitors. Recent honorees include Burton P. Resnick, Adam R. Rose and Amy Rose, Mary Ann Tighe, Daniel R. Tishman, Donald Zucker and Jonathan L. Mechanic.

About The Metropolitan Museum of Art
The Metropolitan Museum of Art was founded in 1870 by a group of American citizens—businessmen and financiers as well as leading artists and thinkers of the day—who wanted to create a museum to bring art and art education to the American people. Today, The Met displays tens of thousands of objects covering 5,000 years of art from around the world for everyone to experience and enjoy. The Museum lives in two iconic sites in New York City—The Met Fifth Avenue and The Met Cloisters. Millions of people also take part in The Met experience online. Since its founding, The Met has always aspired to be more than a treasury of rare and beautiful objects. Every day, art comes alive in the Museum’s galleries and through its exhibitions and events, revealing both new ideas and unexpected connections across time and across cultures.
