젊은 성인 삼반다
삼반다는 7세기에 널리 숭배되던 유아성인으로서 남인도 삼성인 무바르의 한명입니다. 전설에 의하면, 여신 우마로부터 우유선물(사발로 표현됨)을 받은 후 유아 삼반다는 시바 신을 찬양하는 찬미가를 작곡하는데 일생을 바쳤습니다. 들어올린 그의 손은 시바가 거주하는 성소인 히말라야의 칼리아쉬산을 가르킵니다. 조각가는 이 성인의 어린 아이 같은 특징을 포착하면서 동시에 정신적 지도자로서의 성숙함과 권위를 부여하고 있습니다. 이 도상은 여러 신과 성인을 기리는 사원 축제 기간 중 행렬에 사용하기 위해 제작되었습니다.
