석가상
이 석가상은 가장 높은 경지의 지혜를 터득해야 얻을 수 있는 찬란한 내적 평정과 고요를 나타냅니다. 제작 당시의 불상은 오른손(소실됨)을 들어 두려움을 물리치고 중생을 안심시키는 시무외인(아바야무드라)을 하고 있었습니다. 석가는 바느질하지 않은 간소한 승복을 입고 있으며, 그의 불심은 깨달음(완전한 열반의 상태)을 의미하는 커다란 후광과 자연 및 초자연의 연기인(락샤나)에 의해 더욱 강조됩니다. 이 불상 양식은 불교 팽창기 양식 전개의 정점을 이루며 아시아 전역에서 석가상의 기준이 되었습니다.
