As part of the International Wiki Loves Fashion campaign, join The Met and Wikipedia online for a virtual, livestreamed edit session to help build global information about fashion. Faculty, educators, students, Wikipedians, and the public are all invited to participate, no experience necessary.
The Met + Wikipedia team will provide source information from past fashion exhibitions, online publications, Open Access images, archival fashion plates, and a general glossary of terms, as well as training on creating and editing articles. A representative from The Costume Institute will join the session to provide additional background. A virtual Wiki cake may also make an appearance!
Afterwards, the team will be available for an additional hour to answer questions and provide guidance on a chat channel we will provide during the session.
Hone up on your fashion terminology and knowledge in advance of the much anticipated exhibition About Time: Fashion and Duration, opening at The Met on October, 29, 2020.
