Like Calderon's Prisoner, this book uses two-tone textured stamping to create a dynamic book cover design. This historical study by Harry Weston Van Dyke (not to be confused with Henry Van Dyke of the blue cloth series) was published to coincide with the opening of the Panama Canal. Celebrating the Latin American countries, it includes black-and-white illustrations and a foldout map of South America.
