Brothers Charles Sumner Greene and Henry Mather Greene are considered among the leading architects and designers of the American Arts and Crafts Movement. Based in Pasadena, California, the firm primarily designed residences, and created bespoke interiors and finely crafted furnishings for their larger commissions, which were primarily located in the Pasadena area. This small and meticulously assembled document box reflects the same refined selection of materials and care of construction found in the firm’s oeuvre and demonstrates the great care they took in designing all facets of the interior.
