Page of book containing 185 leaves with a collection of lithographs, aquatints, engravings, and other media, with ornamental designs published by Fleury Chavant in Paris, part of the publication "Guide du Dessinateur de l'industrie: une macédoine de dessins variés , tels que fleurs, ornemens, etc. ... Ouvrage destiné aux fabricants et dessinateurs de soieries... et Papiers Peints..." This plate contains a design for an ornamental frame, inspired on the creations by Bernard Picart and Papillon. The design is made up of an hexagonal frame with alternating scales and stylized tulips, flanked above by a semi-circular, scallop-edged frame with strips of stylized tulips and pearls, around a half rosette made up of alternating teardrops and 5-point petaloids, on which stands an ornamental vase, surrounded by clouds. The semi-circle is flanked to the sides by scrolling acanthus leaves, which interlace around the hexagonal frame to meet a vertical strap with a grotesque, which flanks the lower part of the frame, and a banner that forms a semi-circle underneath. Another motif with scrolling strapwork, interlaced by thin branches with smaller acanthus leaves, stylized flowers, flower buds, and leaves, hangs under it from two large scrolling acanthus leaves on the sides, standing on two horns, which interlace around scrolling acanthus leaves that form a base for the frame, from which hang thin strips with alternating shuttle shapes. To the sides of the hexagonal frame, standing on the scrolling acanthus leaves at the level of the semi-circle with a rosette, are two small grotesques, surrounded by clouds, and flanked to the sides by dolphins, from which hang fabric festoons.
