Ninth plate of a set of 12 plates of men's and women's coiffures, containing four designs for women's coiffures. The hairstyles are presented inside four simple, rectangular frames, each containing an illustration of the upper body of a woman, wearing a fashionable dress of the 1770s, and matching hairstyles. The first two coiffures, consist of complicated hairstyles with curls and are decorated at the top with bundles of large feathers of purple, green, and yellow colors: the first also contains ribbons and interlacing strips of pearls that wrap around the hair, and a tiara of pearls in the front, and the second with ruffled fabric of light-blue colors, a brooch with a rosette made up of pearls, and a garland of red and orange roses and green leaves, with two tassels of light blue fabric hanging behind the woman's hair. The third hairstule, shown from behind, consists of ribbons of pink, green, and yellow colors, which go around the woman's head, and are tied to her hair with brooches of rosettes made up of small, white pearls, a bow of the same ribbon, and a bundle of large feathers of matching colors. The fourth hairstyle consists of layers of white, ruffled fabric, yellow ribbons with white scalloping edges, which form a bow on one side, and hang behing the woman's head holding two yellow tassels, decorated with a jeweled aigrette brooch.
