Engraving of the cover page of "Recueil de desseins de joaillerie, fait par Augustin Duflos, Md. Joaillier à Paris, et gravé par Claude Duflos" (Collection of Jewelry Designs, Made by Augustin Duflos, Jeweler in Paris, and Engraved by Claude Duflos), containing the title of the collection inside a scrolling frame decorated with diamonds, pearls, and garlands of stylized flowers and leaves, floating on a cloud, and with five putti gathering around it to observe it amorously and to play with the offsetting branches from the garland. The collection of jewelry designs for which this page provides a title would have likely contained the most important designs by Augustin Duflos, jeweler to King Louis XV, known for directing the execution of the Crown worn by Louis XV to his coronation, which was designed by Claude Rondé in 1722. He later designed similar crowns for King Joseph V of Portugal, in 1723, and for the Queen of France in 1725, also working from designs by Rondé.
