Figures in a rustic church, including an elderly couple with three dogs, the smallest lying on a tartan blanket. In the pew behind are a younger man, woman and small boy who peeks over the rail. Based on a picture shown at the Royal Academy in 1849 as "The Free Church" that was bought by Queen Victoria.
