Architectural Study
Marcel Kammerer Austrian
Not on view
Marcel Kammerer was one of the three most notable Austrian architects working at the beginning of the twentieth century. The others were Otto Schönthal and Emil Hoppe. All three were outstanding students in Otto Wagner's special class at the Akademie in Vienna, the celebrated Wagnerschule, from 1898–1902. Upon completing their studies, all three were invited by Wagner to work as assistants in his studio, collaborating with him on numerous projects. Kammerer went on to successfully build his own reputation and executed designs ranging from large villas to furniture, glassware and textiles. This presentation drawing was completed for an unknown project.
