Troupial

Charles Artus French

Not on view

The animalier Charles Artus first exhibited this model at the Société des Artistes Décorateurs in 1932, which suggests his openness to the decorative value of his work. The troupial is a species of oriole native to Central and South America. The Met purchased this example from Galerie Edgar Brandt in 1932.
