Model of a Stupa

Nepal (Kathmandu Valley)

Not on view

This miniature stupa has four shrines at the base, each housing a meditating Buddha. Eyes are incised on the four sides of the square section harmika between the dome and the tiered umbrellas, as seen at Swayambhunath stupa and elsewhere in the valley today.
