'El Hijo del Ahuizote' is a humorous periodical focussing mainly on political caricature founded in 1885 by Daniel Cabrera Rivera, Manuel Pérez Bibbins with Juan Sarabia. It is richly illustrated and most of the title pages are hand coloured. Many of the illustrations are signed 'Figaro' a pseudonym for Cabrera. The two volumes catalogued here contain 205 issues. Vol. I (nos. 1-39) and vol. II (nos. 1-64) are bound together. Vol. III (nos. 104-154) and vol. IV (nos. 155-205) are bound together. This represents the entire run of the newspaper.
