Four-Plate Helmet

Central or Western Europe

Not on view

This helmet was heavily restored in the early to mid-20th century with an epoxy-like resin. Its lower rim was entirely reconstructed and a nasal added to it, which should not be present on a helmet of this type. The bowl is of four-plate construction and a type found in central and western Europe in the late migration era.
