Not on view

This handsome chauffeur's uniform and its coordinate pieces are emblematic of the life of high society in the late 1920s when wealthy families had private staff that included smartly dressed chauffeurs, maids and cooks. The manufacturer, John Patterson & Company, had both Fifth Avenue, New York, and Bellevue Avenue, Newport, R.I., addresses, two of the most prestigious locations in America at that time.
