Rudy Gutierrez, Guest Contributor

Rudy Gutierrez is an American Artist/Illustrator and Educator of Puerto Rican heritage. He is a Pratt Institute Graduate and his art has been published and and exhibited worldwide. Among his awards are an International Labor Communications Honor, and from the Society of Illustrators, a Gold Medal, the Dean Cornwell Hall of Fame Award, and Distinguished Educator in the Arts Award. His children’s book art has garnered him a Caldecott Honor Award, Pura Belpré Award, an Américas Book Award, an Africana Book Award, a Shining Willow Honor, and a New York Book Award. Rudy has lectured at various institutions and teaches at Pratt Institute.
