Pamphlet-style children's book with a blue paper cover, an 1834 reissue of a work first published in 1825. Inside the front cover, text describes New York, estimating the number of buildings in Manhattan as 40,000 and the population as 230,000. Pages 5-23 contain illustrations and text describing sellers of mats, watermelons, pineapples, milk, sand, beans & peas, potatoes, brooms, hot corn, radishes, matches, oranges, strawberries and clams, together with figures offering various services: a knife or scissor grinder, a chimney sweep and locksmith.
