This is the second edition of a seminal poem by visual artist, writer, poet, activist, and educator Margaret Taylor-Burroughs, featuring her woodblock print on the cover. In 1961, Taylor-Burroughs co-founded the DuSable Museum along with her husband Charles Burroughs on the ground floor of her Chicago home. She also helped to establish the South Side Community Art Center. Taylor-Burroughs' collection would educate the community and people from abroad about African and African American History. Her poem, "What Shall I Tell My Children Who Are Black?," is a story about a mother instilling pride in her son about his heritage and served as encouragement and inspiration to mothers during the 1960s. The critically acclaimed poem has been translated into multiple languages.
