American Longrifle
Gunsmith Leonard Reedy American
Reedy apprenticed under John Bonewitz in Womelsdorf, later moving with him to Pine Grove where they jointly established a gun shop in about 1808. This is one of a small number of surviving signed rifles by Reedy. Its raised carving reflects Bonewitz’s influence, while also demonstrating Reedy’s skill and individuality as a craftsman.
