Chair

Designer Gustave Serrurier-Bovy Belgian

Not on view

Gustave Serruier-Bovy was an important Belgian architect, also known for his Art Nouveau furniture. This chair, unlike many of Serruier-Bovy's more refined pieces, reflects his interest in the English arts and crafts movement, in particular the references to ecclesiastical furniture in the simplicity of the wood and the austere high backrest.
