Page of book containing 185 leaves with a collection of lithographs, aquatints, engravings, and other media, with ornamental designs published by Fleury Chavant in Paris, part of the publication "Guide du Dessinateur de l'industrie: une macédoine de dessins variés , tels que fleurs, ornemens, etc. ... Ouvrage destiné aux fabricants et dessinateurs de soieries... et Papiers Peints..." This page consists of a design for a lace ("Dentelle de Caen"), made up of scrolling leaves with palmettes, thin branches with teardrop-shaped leaves and small, round flower buds, stylized flowers, and thin bundles with stylized flowers and heart-shaped leaves. Some of the scrolling motifs form frames that are filled with grids of lozenges, made up of thin, black lines, and with X shapes in the intersections and in the center of each lozenge. The design is executed with black ink on thin, light brown paper.
