Page of book containing 185 leaves with a collection of lithographs, aquatints, engravings, and other media, with ornamental designs published by Fleury Chavant in Paris, part of the publication "Guide du Dessinateur de l'industrie: une macédoine de dessins variés , tels que fleurs, ornemens, etc. ... Ouvrage destiné aux fabricants et dessinateurs de soieries... et Papiers Peints..." This plate contains several ornamental designs with interlacing motifs after the styles of the 16th century. In the center, there is a design for an iron binding, made up of interlacing strapwork inside a frame, flanked above and below by small scrolls and a spade point, over a black ground with thin scrolling branches. To its sides are two roundels with lozenge-shaped knots, outlined with black, and rendered with thin, black lines. Around them are four rosettes made up of interlacing strapwork, decorated with semi-abstract fleurs de lis, outlined with thin, black lines, partially rendered with black ink, and over a background with thin, vertical, black lines.
