Plate 6 of a series of designs for mantelpieces. This plate shows two variants of a design for a fireplace surmounted by two mirrors or paintings. On the left is a bare design and on the right a more ornamented one. On the right, the frames of the mirrors(or paintings) are decorated. The side panels are also adorned with shell and foliage decorations.
