Plate 2 of a series of eight plates of emblems dedicated to Cardinal Mazarin. This design presents an altar in a nocturnal landscape. On the altar is an oval medallion with a quiver in which is a halberd. Over the medallion is a crown and over the crown is a hat. Over the altar is an inscribed ribbon. The whole scene is set in an oval medallion surrounded by a wreath of leaves. In the lower left corner are fruits, while in the lower right corner are jewellery and a crown. Under this medallion is another inscription.
