From a series of eighteen plates with designs for architectural details of the Doric and Ionic orders, first published in 1565 by Hieronymus Cock. This version belongs to the fourth edition, published by Jan Baptist Collaert II and Carel Collaert after 1601. It is bound in a volume containing three series by Hans Vredeman de Vries: I) Das ander Buech Gemacht auff die zway Colonnen, Corinthia und Composita (12 plates); II) Den Eersten Boeck Ghemaect opde Twee Columnen Dorica En Ionica (18 plates); III) Architectura 3e Stuck de oorden Tuschana (12 plates). These series form a three-part set on the subject of the architectural orders, with Den Eersten Boeck (the first book) containing designs for Doric and Ionic columns, Das ander beuch (the second book) containing designs for Corinthian and Composite columns, and Architectura de oorden Tuschana (the third book) containing designs for Tuscan columns. The first two parts were originally published by Cock in 1565, while the third part only appeared in 1578 and was published by his widow, Volcxken Dierix. All three series were designed by de Vries and executed by the Van Doetecum brothers.
