Pink Venetian with Clear and Gold Prunts

Dale Chihuly American

Not on view

In 1967 Chihuly earned the distinction of being the first American to work at the famous Venini glass factory on the island of Murano in Venice. His time there clearly influenced both his aesthetics and his glassblowing techniques. Over the years he has created a number of masterful "Venetian" blown-glass works that look to the traditions of that city's glass-making industry while also maintaining a striking sense of sculptural originality.
