Looking glass
Not on view
Looking glasses were among the most prized furniture imports from England, and their prices remained inflated well into the eighteenth century when the value of many other objects had decreased. This piece is typical of late seventeenth century William and Mary design, characterized by the use of figured walnut veneers and a dramatic, pierced cresting.
