Head Ornament
Not on view
This type of ornament would have been attached to a headscarf or diadem on either side of the head, and connected by a chain to a large decorative earring which hung alongside the ear (such as 65.265.1-4). Jewels of this type are best known to have been worn by Jewish women in Morocco. The pin on the reverse suggests this object may have been repurposed as a brooch or fibula.
