Bowl with pomegranates, lotus scrolls, and chrysanthemum petals

China

On view at The Met Fifth Avenue in Gallery 220

Blue-and-white porcelain achieved new heights in the early Ming dynasty and was favored by imperial courtiers. The exquisite patterns on these porcelains, such as the lotus scrolls on the interior of this bowl, often reflect standard designs from the official workshop.
