Not on view
The depiction of the Siege of the Citadel of St. Martin on the Île de Ré was commissioned by Louis XIII in 1628. The plates illustrate French victory at the command of Cardinal Richelieu. At the bottom of this plate, boats are loaded from a strip of land adjacent to the Port du Plomb. At the top of the plate, the English fleet descends, as three lines of French boats originating from the lower right of the plate attempt to cross the fleet.
