This portfolio of 40 gelatin silver prints by Rong Rong chronicles the life and performances of the group of avant-garde artists who established an artistic outpost in a poor, outlying district of Beijing in 1992 and dubbed it the Beijing East Village, taking its name from New York's bohemian art district. The 40 photographs record various performances by Zhang Huan, Ma Liuming, and others during the period 1933-1998.
