Silver jug

Cypriot

Not on view

Jugs of this type were popular in Cyprus from the end of the Geometric through the Archaic period, but only one silver example is known. In the Aegean area, comparable vases probably contained perfumed oil.
This is a unique example in silver of a popular shape for ceramic jugs. The ceramic vases circulated widely in the Aegean.
