Engraving, part of 'Omnium pene Europae, Asiae, Aphricae atque Americae Gentium Habitus' (Costumes of the various nations of Europe, Asia, Africa and America), a series of prints representing figures from various parts of the world, engraved by Abraham de Bruyn and published by Joos de Bosscher in 1580.

This engraving represents 10 different types of English men and women, presented in two horizontal rows of five. On the first row, an English nobleman wears a cape with striped border, a striped jerkin with double bow trimmings on the shoulders over a doublet with long puff sleeves, a puffy bonnet with feathers and a ruff, hose, stockings, and flat shoes. Next to him is a noblewoman, wearing a long dress with cartwheel ruff under a long coat with train, long puff sleeves trimmed with two rows of bows at the shoulders and ruffs at the cuffs, and lined with fur; she wears a bonnet and holds a feather fan in one hand, gloves in the other. In the center is a girl, wearing a had with wide brim, rudd, and long-sleeved, long dress with layered skirts. Next to her is another noblewoman, wearing a dress with cartwheel ruff, striped bodice trimmed with bows, long puff sleeves with ruff cuffs, a skirt with three stripes on the border over another skirt with a brocaded pattern of scrolling motifs, and holding a kind of reliquary hanging from one hand. On the right, a second nobleman wears a cartwheel ruff, striped jerkin over puff-sleeved doublet, hose with diagonal stripes, and a long overcoat with hanging open sleeves, trimmed with two rows of bows.

On the second row, on the left, is a woman from London wearing a dress made up of a ruff and chemise, long puff sleeves trimmed with bows and with a row of small bows down the side, and layered skirts with striped borders; she wears a hat. Next to her, a citizen of London wears a fur-lined cape over a doublet with wide skirt, short cap sleeves over long puff sleeves, trimmed with braid, with striped borders and fur lining, and tight hose. In the center, an English noblewoman wears a dress with ruff, wide bell sleeves over long puff sleeves, trimmed with bows, the bodice embellished with pearls and with a jeweled brooch, and the underskirt with a brocaded pattern of scrolling motifs. To the right is an English nobleman wearing a wide-brimmed, round-crown hat, cartwheel ruff, doublet and padded hose, and a long cape. Next to him is a young man, wearing a similar outfit, but without the cape and with a smaller ruff, and with a flat-top hat. He carries a sword on his left shoulder.
