Wilton album, folio 2: The Judgement of Paris; the shepherd Paris, seated on the right, presenting the golden apple to the goddess Venus

For more information on the Wilton album see entry for 27.78.1(1-428).
This is a heavily reworked state of the print, in which the contours of almost every figure have been heavily retouched in drypoint; the head of the goddess closest to Paris has been altered; the signed of the zodiac redrawn, and feathers added to the reclining figure seen from the from the back in the lower centre; traces of Schiavone's monogram still faintly visible in the lower right corner; for an earlier state see 27.78.1(117).
