LULU C. WANG ELECTED A TRUSTEE AT THE METROPOLTIAN MUSEUM

Lulu C. Wang has been elected to the Board of Trustees of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, it was announced today by James R. Houghton, the Museum's Chairman. Mrs. Wang's election took place at the October 9 meeting of the Board.

Mrs. Wang is a partner and the Chief Executive Officer of Tupelo Capital Management L.L.C., a New York-based investment firm that she founded in 1997. Previously associated with Jennison Associates Capital Company, where she was a Director and Executive Vice President, and with Equitable Capital Management, where she held the title of Senior Vice President and Managing Director, Mrs. Wang has been engaged in professional money management since 1972.

"The Metropolitan Museum is delighted to welcome Lulu Wang to its Board of Trustees," commented Mr. Houghton in announcing the election. "Her unswerving dedication to—and energetic interest in—cultural causes in New York City and at the Museum are exemplary, and we look forward to working with her on the Board."

Philippe de Montebello, Director of the Metropolitan, noted: "Mrs. Wang and her husband became actively involved with the Museum's American Wing in 1995, assisting the Metropolitan in the purchase of several important examples of American furniture. They subsequently endowed a curatorship in perpetuity in the field of American decorative arts—the Anthony W. and Lulu C. Wang Curator—and last year were elected Benefactors of the Museum in recognition of their steadfast support. It will be a distinct pleasure to continue to work with Mrs. Wang, who has strengthened our institution in so many ways."

In addition to her membership in the Metropolitan Museum's Chairman's Council and its William Cullen Bryant Fellows, Mrs. Wang is a member of the American Museum of Natural History's Advisory Council. She is President of the Shoreland Foundation and is on the boards of The Women's Forum and of the public radio station WNYC. She also serves on the Board of Trustees of her alma mater, Wellesley College, where she chairs the Investment Committee. Mrs. Wang is a director of the New York Community Trust, where she chairs the Finance Committee, and serves on the Finance Committee for the Rockefeller Family Fund.

A graduate of Wellesley College, Mrs. Wang earned an M.B.A. from Columbia University's Graduate School of Business. She is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
