K–12 EDUCATOR PROGRAM

The American West

Fee: $25

At the turn of the twentieth century, artistic representations of American Indians, cowboys and cavalry, pioneers and prospectors, and animals of the plains and the mountains served as visual metaphors for the Old West. Discuss key works featured in the exhibition The American West in Bronze, 1850–1925 with a curator and learn strategies for engaging students with works on view in the American Wing. After the workshop, participate in Stories and Art of the American West, a free festival for all ages featuring art making, music, dance performances, and more. Please register online.
