Marble footed bowl
Technical analysis: Ultraviolet-induced visible luminescence examination, optical microscopy
The cup, carved from white marble, is intact except for several small to medium-sized fills along the rim and a small chip to the foot. The surface has thick accretion in many areas. There are pits and abrasions to the surface overall.
A characteristic example of its type, both in size and form, this cup has a rounded bowl-like interior, and the pedestal is slightly hollowed underneath. The profile of the vessel has slightly flaring sides and the pedestal foot flares out to a beveled edge.
