The visionary artist Nam June Paik is widely considered the father of video art. His groundbreaking work, including pioneering multimedia installations, has inspired generations of artists to explore the intersection of technology, culture, and human expression. These works belong to a suite of ten prints; the relationships among the images are open to interpretation, though they share the framing device of a television set.

As much as Paik looked forward, he was also a student of the past. The suite begins with references to familial and artistic kinship networks and lineages. The first print features an annotated family photograph in which, disregarding gender, the artist has identified each individual as a female relative. Next, Paik depicted his artist friends and collaborators, including Charlotte Moorman, Joseph Beuys, John Cage, and Alan Ginsberg. In the third print, Paik addresses time and memory through text, images, and symbols.
