Evening ensemble

Design House Giorgio Armani Italian
Designer Giorgio Armani Italian
fall/winter 1995–96
Not on view
As part of a sizeable gift from the designer that surveys several years of his work, this fine example of Armani eveningwear plays a hot-cool game in which the bolero dazzles against the unpretentious, unadorned dress. Armani's inspiration in the 1930s is apparent here: both thirties movies and fashion featured this elegant styling.
