The Industries of Japan
Not on view
This set of seventy-two small, unmounted paintings depicts a variety of Japanese craftspeople, including carpenters, paper makers, weavers, and more. They were originally made for Robert Hewson Pruyn, who served as the United States' second ever Minister Resident to Japan, from 1862 to 1865.
