Cloisonné Strap Mount
The creation of garnet cloisonné work demands great skill. The garnet must be split into thin slices, after which the hard and brittle mineral is shaped with a high-speed wheel. Frankish workshops specializing in garnet jewelry were both prolific and accomplished.
