Footed Dish

Manufactured by International Silver Company American

On view at The Met Fifth Avenue in Gallery 706

This flared bowl on a broad pedestal foot is marked by the International Silver Company, which was founded in 1898 through the consolidation of seventeen independent silver firms. Its clean lines and stylized leaf ornament reflect the strong Scandinavian influence prevalent in American silver by the early 1930s.
