The Costume Institute's spring 2015 exhibition, China: Through the Looking Glass, opens to the public on May 7, and will be presented in the Museum's Chinese art galleries and the Anna Wintour Costume Center. This stunning exhibition features more than one hundred examples of haute couture and avant-garde ready-to-wear—from designers such as Jean Paul Gaultier, Alexander McQueen, and Yves Saint Laurent—alongside masterpieces of Chinese art.
In honor of the exhibition, Executive Chef Fred Sabo has crafted a menu inspired by fusion cuisine and the influence of Chinese cuisine on Western chefs. Join us on Friday and Saturday evenings throughout May to enjoy dishes such as smoked eel and jellyfish salad with cilantro, peanut, chili, and cucumber, as well as foie gras and scallop dumplings with soy-rice-vinegar dipping sauce. Each course will be thoughtfully paired with wines that accent these unique flavors.
